• Application Process:Write a letter explaining your familys need. A family selectioncommittee chooses homeowners based on their level of need, theirwillingness to become partners in the program and their willingnessto repay the no-interest/low interest loan. The applying family issent a letter with the requirements and an application. They have30 days to fill out the application and return it to Habitat. Whenthis is complete, the application is reviewed.
• Eligibility Requirements:Families that have been turned down for a conventional mortgagethrough the bank. Must have a steady source of income. Must be ableto invest 350 hours of "Sweat equity" in work time on their home.Must be living in substandard housing.
